Both our churches have a rich and varied musical tradition. We hope you enjoy it.

Meet our choirs:

St John's Sunday Choir:

We rehearse on Wednesdays at 5.30pm and sing each Sunday morning. We're small, friendly and loveable. We are aged 2 to 90!

St John's Choral Evensong Choir: we sing full choral evensong six times a year. We come from many different choirs and rehearse together on the Friday evening before our Sunday evening service.

Flamstead Community Choir: we meet in St Leonard's on Thursday evenings. We sing what we like: a wide range from ancient to modern, just because we enjoy singing together. Sometimes we sing at special services.

New members are always welcome.

Congregation members from our two churches choose our hymns together: next Hymn Choosing morning: 29th March 2025. 10am for 10.30am at St John's, Markyate. Tea, coffee, biscuits provided. The joy comes free.

Music at St Leonard's brings you a varied series of concerts using the beautiful Steinway piano.
