Safeguarding

Both our parishes take very seriously their obligation to protect children, young people and vulenerable adults involved in church activities. We believe that safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the church and that everyone has a right to care and respect.

We have adopted the national policies and procedures of the Church of England, but brief policy statements, and helpful information such as contact details are displayed on the noticeboards in our churches.

If you are concerned that someone you know is at risk of harm of any kind, please seek advice urgently. If necessary, report the matter to the police. It is especially important to contact the police on 101 if there is an immediate risk or danger of harm to any person.

In our churches, advice can be obtained from our clergy and churchwardens. You can also contact our Benefice Administrator and Safeguarding Officer, Pandora Abel Smith, on 01582 842525 or parishofficefm@gmail.com

The Diocesan Safeguarding Officer for St Albans, Jeremy Hirst, can also help. He can be reached on 01727 818107 or safeguarding@stalbans.anglican.org
